Bronny James Suffers Cardiac Arrest During Workout at USC

During USC practice on Monday, Bronny James, the eldest son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, suffered a cardiac arrest.

USC medical staff took him to the intensive care unit immediately, but he is now stable and out of the hospital.

“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly thank the USC medical and athletic staff for their dedication and hard work,” the James family said in a statement.

According to the 2023 ESPN 100 rankings, James is the sixth-ranked point guard in the class of 2023.

His freshman year at USC will see him play a key role in the Trojans' backcourt. In addition, Bronny is the first member of the James family to attend college.

The USC medical staff has responded to a cardiac arrest by a men's basketball player twice in the past year.

Vince Iwuchukwu collapsed during an off-season team workout last September and spent a few days in the hospital. Six months later, he returned to the hardwood at full strength.
